The Westchester Green Business Challenge which was honored by the New York League of Conservation Voters at its annual Westchester Cocktail Party held Tuesday, Nov. 20 at the Lodge at the Hudson Harbor in Tarrytown. Keynote speakers were Jamie Rubin, Director of Gov. Andrew Cuomo's New York Rising Community Reconstruction Program, and Commissioner Rose Harvey, the New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation. Other honorees were Friends of Westchester County Parks and Vicki & Silas Ford. First launched in 2009 by Westchester County in partnership with The Business Council of Westchester, the Westchester Green Business Challenge is an innovative public-private partnership designed to move companies down the path toward environmental sustainability while improving performance and saving money.
